Berlin’s iconic Tresor club is reaffirming its commitment to community and unity, relaunching its mentorship and training program for the next generation of club owners and nightlife creators, eager to establish venues beyond major cities.
This five-month program will offer participants direct mentorship and support from the club, connecting them with key players in the industry to help bring their nightclub concepts to life. Open to anyone aged 21-35 with a clear vision for a club, only 8 spots are available. Participants must attend two weeks of training in Berlin, in February and May of the upcoming year, with all expenses covered by Tresor.
The program will cover essential topics for running a club, including door policies, security, bar management, and developing a strong concept for the venue. Although the exact instructors have not yet been revealed, the initiative will feature prominent figures from Tresor, OHM, and Kraftwerk Berlin.
This initiative is a step in the right direction for what the electronic music scene truly needs. Rebuilding a sense of community and solidarity is vital for the prosperity of the music industry. That’s why the program was launched last year by Dimitri Hegemann—Tresor’s owner—along with his former booker, Diana Alagić, and sociologist Martin Fuller. Their goal is to expand club culture to less populated areas, away from the buzz of big cities like Berlin.
"Subcultural spaces like clubs are enriching for both people and cities: they offer a space for communities to form, and a place for collective ecstatic experiences." said Fuller when the initiative was first unveiled last year.
Those interested in applying have until November 21 to submit their proposals for a club concept within the EU.
