Minoas Cirillo, a name that resonates with the deep rhythms of Cologne’s electronic music scene, has carved out a distinctive space in the world of underground electronic music. Known for his innovative approach and dedication to his craft, Cirillo’s music encapsulates a fusion of house, techno, and ambient soundscapes that captivate listeners and transport them into a different realm.

Cirillo's journey into the electronic music world began with a passion for discovering unique sounds and an insatiable curiosity for music production. Relocating to Cologne, he quickly immersed himself in the city's vibrant underground scene. His debut EP "Break Silent," released on Get Physical Music, set the tone for what fans could expect: a meticulous blend of pulsating rhythms and ethereal melodies.

Working with artists such as Braunbeck from Watergate Records, David Hasert from LIKE Records, and ReiRei from Alt-Sin, he has not only contributed to but also drawn inspiration from some of the most respected names in the industry. Each collaboration has allowed him to refine his sound further, pushing the boundaries of what electronic music can achieve.

Balancing time between producing new music and performing live is all about understanding the rhythm of both creative processes and how they complement each other.

Minoas is a singer, producer and also a compelling live performer. His sets are known for creating magical moments that resonate with audiences long after the music stops. Whether it's a deep, hypnotic groove or a high-energy peak-time banger, Cirillo has an uncanny ability to read the crowd and deliver exactly what they need.

C: Your music spans a variety of electronic genres, from house to techno and ambient. How do you approach blending these styles, and what inspires your creative process?

M: The creative process often starts with an exploration of sound—sometimes it’s a beat that evokes the energy of house music, or a texture that hints at the introspective qualities of ambient. From there, I experiment with layering, allowing elements from different genres to interact organically. This might mean combining the driving rhythms of techno with the atmospheric layers of ambient, or infusing a house groove with unexpected soundscapes.

C: How do you balance your time between producing new music and performing live? Do you find that one influences the other?

M: Balancing time between producing new music and performing live is all about understanding the rhythm of both creative processes and how they complement each other. When I'm in the studio, it's a more introspective, experimental phase where I can dive deep into crafting new sounds and ideas. This is where I refine my vision and push the boundaries of what I want to express musically.

C: As technology in music production evolves, how do you see the future of electronic music, and what role do you hope to play in it?

M: In this evolving landscape, I hope to play a role as both an innovator and a bridge between the old and the new. While I’m excited about embracing new technologies, I’m also passionate about preserving the emotional and human elements of music that resonate with people on a deeper level. My goal is to continue creating music that pushes creative boundaries while staying true to the essence of what makes music meaningful.

C: Which artists or genres outside of electronic music have influenced your sound, and how do they manifest in your work?

M: Artists and genres outside of electronic music have had a profound impact on my sound, shaping the way I approach composition, melody, and texture. I draw inspiration from a wide range of influences, from the emotional depth of classical music to the raw energy of rap, and the storytelling elements of folk.

C: What upcoming projects or collaborations are you most excited about, and what can fans expect from you in the near future?

M: I definitely have a lot in the pipeline like the What is Love remix with David, but want to keep things under wraps for now because, well, as the saying goes, silence is golden.”
